Job Description

Qualifications:  (including but not limited to):

 Minimum 5 years of full-time teaching experience in Photography at a Collage/university with some graduate

teaching experience

 Doctorate appropriate for the Academics or at least masters in Photography

 Record of teaching, professional development/scholarly work, and service to warrant faculty rank of Lecturer.

 Understanding of appropriate accreditation, preferably having national review experience

 Administrative experience in higher education

Job Responsibilities

 MFA in Photography; or MFA in Studio Art or relevant field with significant experience in photography.

 Specialization in contemporary and innovative approaches to the photographic medium, and/or in documentary or

non-fiction based photographic practices

 Evidence of or potential for effective teaching at the college level

 Evidence of or potential for success in research, scholarly and creative activities

 Demonstrated commitment to working successfully with a diverse student population

Preferred Qualifications:

 Evidence of engagement with emerging technologies and alternative methods of image creation and distribution

 Strong record of professional achievement

 Ability to engage students in continually evolving relationships between photographic history, theory, practice, and

the cultivation of diverse visual cultures

 At least 4-5 years of demonstrated excellence in teaching photography at the college level

 Industrial Exposure at least for 4-5 years

 Record of successfully teaching innovative college-level courses that are both relevant and engaging to a diverse

student body

 Potential for serving in rotating leadership roles for our BFA and MFA programs

 Demonstrated ability to articulate and implement a dynamic vision for the future of the photography program in the

School of Art


 Teach undergraduate and graduate level courses in the photography program.

 Collaborate with faculty in the ongoing development of the BFA in Photography which provides a broad range of

approaches to the medium

 Engage in outreach, student mentoring, involvement in student activities and portfolio reviews

 Participate in curriculum development

 Assist in course scheduling for photography program

 Act as program liaison with professionals in the field

 Serve on graduate committees

 Develop and maintain ongoing research, scholarly and creative activities

 Participate in service to the School of Art, college, university, and community

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: ₹ 480,000.00 to ₹ 540,000.00 /year
