Job Description


This is the leadership position in the K-12 education sector. The Position would be leading a team responsible for Content Development for Wrap up books, Copyrights & Permissions, Creative Services,

Project Management, Editorial Shared Services (Quality Assurance/Quality Control) and Product & Technology which ensures the development of quality learning solution products, implementing of systems, processes and deliver the results with complete ownership.

The responsibilities include:
To lead in conjunction with the COO, the development of the product strategies
To lead and oversee the implementation of long and short term plans in accordance with the strategies
Defining and setting up high-quality processes, guidelines and standards in book publishing
Reviewing acquired content, and ensuring compliance to local and global editorial standards and curriculum frameworks.
Creating and managing the overall development plan for learning solution products over a rolling three-year horizon
Projecting, tracking and controlling expenses in line with pre-approved budgets
Identifying and negotiating with authors, reviewers and other stake-holders
Coordinating with, mentoring and leading a team of Managing Editors/Senior editors/editors/proof-readers/typesetters
Working in close coordination with the editorial team on all deliverables related to learning solutions
Collaborating with the regional product management, technology, learning design, media, and quality assurance functions to establish market leadership in the K-12 space in India
Managing deadlines and schedules with zero compromise on quality
Managing the publication process efficiently and cost-effectively
Applying creativity and innovation to ensure product differentiation and quality worthy of the brand

Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Excellent leadership and management skills
Excellent attention to detail
Understanding of pedagogy and market trends of best-selling products
Ability to think like an entrepreneur and to envision nature and type of products to publish
Understanding of quality management principles
Experience in working with regional and local teams and stakeholders
Past experience of managing content, building plans as per cost, schedule and quality benchmarks
A proactive and flexible approach to work with a strong work ethic
Ability to prioritize, delegate, and manage work to adhere to critical project timelines
Ability to inspire teams towards leveraging each team member’s potential in organization building
